Assessment Services

Enterprise Architects can help with services around any of our Assessment Tools. Depending on the needs of the customer organization the following assessments can be performed:

  • Functional Maturity Assessment
This assessment is especially applicable when starting an Enterprise Architect or Information Design programme or project. More than once Enterprise Architect found that early stage business process models lack all necessary process activities. The ideas of the designers are fed with the ideas of business people. Both, however, lack insight of all necessary steps of the business processes at the Architecture & Consultancy is early stage. The GEFF™ structure however “extorts” the designer to think about the different process steps: from the first Event to the final Result. See the White Paper pages on this. This shows the importance of the completeness of the business functions.

Because Enterprise Architects develops Business Solution Models for several Lines of Business, these Solution Models can be used as Functional Maturity benchmarks.

  • Application Comparison Assessment
The GEFF™ is also used to compare the application landscapes of parties in a merger or acquisition.  With the so-called ACF or Application Comparison Framework based on the GEFF™ it is possible to assess all applications in use by all the parties to determine duplication, large overlaps, etc.

Enterprise Architects has extensive experience with Application Rationalization projects in which many organizations are merged or acquired, determining duplication of applications with totally different names is often necessary.

  • Business Value Assessment
During Application Rationalization it is necessary to estimate the functionality value of different applications and determine the right rationalization scenario for different applications together with the technological value. The technological value of applications can be assessed by analyzing the source code, etc. but the business value assessment has to be performed via functionality mapping and business surveys.

To support this Enterprise Architects has developed services (see Business Value Assessment) and tools. The tools give insight in the functional maturity, business functionality value, and how business people experience the usability, flexibility, etc.

  • Competency, Capability, and Capability Assessment
Before a large-scale organizational transformation programme starts, or when it is necessary to get insight into the competencies, capabilities, and capacities of the organization, several assessments are necessary. Also, process activities sometimes need special skills. With this assessment tool it is possible to compare the available competencies and capabilities (As Is – available resources) with the necessary competencies and capabilities (To Be situation).

When the Gap/Fit assessment results are available it is possible to set up training curricula and schemas, start recruitment and training, etc.

  • Architectural Maturity Assessment
The Enterprise Architects concepts of EA3.0Ô form a good benchmark for assessing the maturity of an organization’s Enterprise Architecture. With tools especially made to position an organization’s maturity, Enterprise Architects can perform an assessment, define requirements, set up architecture development plans, etc.
