Assessment Services and Products

Assessments give insight in the organizations fit in a very fast time. Enterprise Architects has its own tooling to build surveys, interpret the outcomes and offer advisory services to help the organization to fill the gap.

 

There are two types of predefined surveys, each covering a different part of the organization’s Architecture or IT related areas. Enterprise Architects delivers predefined Quick Surveys and In-Depth Surveys on several research areas of the organizational fit. The Quick Survey covers areas like strategy, strategic architecture, information planning and product lifecycle management, the different architecture domains, the transformation approach, and application lifecycle management.

 

Of each of these areas an In-Depth Survey can be made, delivering more details. The idea is to use the quick scan to get a broad view, and when thresholds for change or problems are foreseen, the In-Depth Scan is used to zoom in on these thresholds and problems.

 

Both Quick Surveys and In-Depth Surveys are developed with the SWB (Survey Work Bench).

 

Decision Support System and Services

The result of each scan is a report which explains were points of improvement can be realized. On top of the scan results a Decision Support System can be used for What-If analyses, to find the cause and effect relations in a non-algorithmic way.

 

It is also possible to develop organization specific scans. For this, Enterprise Architects developed a designer environment where the specific survey can be designed. The designer environment is self-explaining for people who are used to work with surveys. When support is necessary for more complex research our consultants can offer their services.

 

Next, selected people are invited to fill out the survey. After an agreed period the survey site is closed and the survey can be processed. First, filtering is applied to cleanse the survey data, and next the designer can make selections on what is to be examined from the database. The calculations necessary for the specific statistics are calculated and the result is stored in a separate database. Finally, reports can be produced and the DSS (Decision Support System) can be used.

 

As already said the Scan results can be extended with a Decision Support System (DSS) for complex what-if analyses. Enterprise Architects delivers surveys and Decision Support tools with which other areas or viewpoints can be examined. The Assessment Tools are used to deliver scan results and the Decision Support System can be used for more complex researches.

Knowledge Asset Management is based on Enterprise Architects’ Functional Knowledge Asset Management approach. The most important tool is the A3 KAM Tool which supports three Knowledge Asset Management approaches, namely Architecture, Actionable, and Augmented Knowledge. With this tool the user can get access and maintain augmented knowledge described in terms of documents, methodologies, techniques, tools, models, movies, etc. The other types of Knowledge Assets can be accessed with the tool, but are maintained during Architecture, Design, and Lifecycle processes.

 

Also, through Apps/Applications several types of augmented, activity and architectural knowledge like information about Business Process, On-Line Help, and other relevant information, can be accessed.
