Interaction Model

An Interaction Model describes how the organization interacts within its environment.

Problems and Solutions

To define each interaction with the environment of organizations is often a painstaking but necessary job that takes a lot of work to maintain. It is, however, essential knowledge necessary to develop, adapt, or reuse different interactions with customers or customer organizations.

In the Enterprise Architects approach this nuisance is solved during the development of components in the Architecture and the Design Continua.

Tools to support Interaction Modeling

The following tools support the Interaction Modeling:

  • APM/Process Modeling
modeling the Business Process and storing business Events and business Results in Interaction Model

  • AFI/Function details
maintaining Messages as Information Events and Information Results in Interaction Model

Advantages of the Enterprise Architects approach

The interaction model is automatically updated when business service delivery is modeled and updated of so-called Business Products on one side or when information service delivery is modeled and updated of so-called Information Products on the other side. In this way the interaction of the organization with its business and supply/demand interaction is automatically maintained.
