Architecture Products and Services

The Architecture Products and tools are supportive for the architecture area, although they might be related to the Business, the Transformation, or the Lifecycle Management area. Winthin this area we distinguish

  • Association Tools for Impact Analysis

Project Start architecture Generation based on selected impact areas
Project Current architecture state Generation based on DtA and PSA
Project End architecture state Generation based on DtA and PSA
  • Association tools are used for impact analysis and to help with setting up Business Cases, Information Planning, Product Owner support, Project Start Architectures, and Project Initiation Documents, especially the scope of projects:
Impact of Change Analysis
Business Case Generation based on RTF Template

Asset Development tools

  • to use the Proposition, and next the Product/Service registrations to generate the organizations’ Business Function Model in relation to the sector specific standard Business Function Model
  • to make use of the CMDB for lifecycle management
  • Asset Development tools use the Proposition model and the Product/Service Catalogue to generate the organizations’ specific Business Function Model. Furthermore, the CMDB registrations can be used for lifecycle management:
Modeling the Proposition Model
Business Interaction Manager with which the Supply Demand chain interactions, derived from the PSM/PSO are managed
Generating the specific organization’s BFM based on the GEFF™, the Proposition Model and the Product/Service Catalogue
Generating the maintenance Apps for the Product/Service Catalogue
Manage the Business Product Lifecycle
Integrate Architecture and Configuration Metamodels
Manage the Information Product Lifecycle

Modeling Tools – to set up (non)-Archimate architecture models

The architecture domains and aspect architectures of EA3.0™ have a broader scope than Archimate.

The following tools are either available (link), under development (link), or foreseen in near future (no link):

Architecture Modeling
Integrated Architecture Management tool
Support pattern recognition for Product/Service to Business Function
Value Management tool with which the Value Vectors that the organization wants to distinguish can be defined
Defining the Value Vectors per Business Function
Business Function Modeler
Conceptual Object Modeler based on the Proposition Model

Specific Architecture Tools

  • to generate the Project Start Architecture (PSA) and – after finishing parts of the project – the Project End Architecture (PEA)
  • to assist projects during the design phase

Architecture tools support Project or Solution Architects before, during and after the project.

The pre-project and after-project phases by present state analysis (DTA), adjusting components and developing new components (AAM), generating Project Start Architecture documents (PSA) and  Project End Architecture documents (PEA):

Design-to-Architecture delivering the present state of the change area in all its aspects
Architecture Modeling - modeling the new architecture components and adjusting the components to be changed
Integrated Architecture Management
Generating a PSA based on the PSA template (RTF)
Generating a PEA based on the PEA template (RTF)

The many different Architecture Services are described in the relevant Proposition page.
